"The students
from Birštonas (passed 82.4%), Rietavas (80.5%), Visaginas (80%), Kaunas city
(74.9%), Zarasai district (74.4%), from Kėdainiai district (72.6%), Šiauliai district
(72.3%), Druskininkai (71.6%), and Vilnius city (71.2%) took the mathematics exam most successfully.
Passing the state mathematics exam is required for admission to
state-funded study places in higher education institutions, except for arts
studies. In addition to this, it is necessary to pass the Lithuanian language
and literature exam and another optional exam.
This year, 35% did
not pass the mathematics matriculation exam from those who did attempt to pass, the Minister of Education,
Science and Sports Jurgita Šiugždinienė announced on Tuesday."
Mrs. Šiugždinienė has not resigned yet, she continues to practice her tongue.
