Using Dry Yeast for Growing Tomatoes

“Many gardeners have encountered a situation where tomato bushes look strong and lush, but they do not set fruit or they grow small. Specialists point out that often the problem lies not in the variety, but in the nutrition of plants at the most important stages of their development.

A simple homemade mixture based on yeast, wood ash and nettle infusion is becoming popular among gardeners. It is said that it can stimulate flowering, improve fruit setting and strengthen the general condition of plants.

To prepare this mixture, you will need: 10 liters of warm, settled water; 1 tablespoon of wood ash; 1 tablespoon of dry yeast; 2 tablespoons of sugar; 1 liter of nettle infusion (if you have it).

How to prepare?

Dissolve sugar and yeast in warm water. Leave the mixture for 2-3 hours to start fermentation. Add wood ash and pour nettle infusion. Mix everything well. The prepared solution can be used immediately. How to use? To achieve the best results, it is recommended to: water the tomatoes directly at the roots; fertilize once every 10-14 days; use during the period of active growth and fruit setting; do not fertilize completely dry soil - it should be moistened before that.

What effect is expected?

Proponents of this mixture claim that with regular use it is possible to: stimulate more abundant flowering; increase the number of fruit buds; strengthen the root system; improve the taste of tomatoes; reduce flower drop. As a result, the bushes remain stronger, and the harvest is more abundant.

What else is worth knowing?

Experienced gardeners remind that even natural fertilizers should not be used too much. Excess fertilization can stimulate the growth of green mass at the expense of fruits. It is also important to: regularly remove axillary shoots; ensure that the plants receive at least 6-8 hours of sun per day; alternate fertilization with regular watering."
